Hello and Welcome to 2026
I hope you have all had a happy Christmas and New Year, with lots of wonderful presents, food and most of all spending happy times with family and friends.
Every year I tell myself that I'm not going to let the preparations for Christmas take over December, that I'm going to be ultra organised, calm and prepared for the main event. And every year I never manage to start early enough, and writing takes a back seat as I shop for presents, wrap them, remember people I have forgotten to buy for, and prepare food.
I'm always glad when Christmas Day arrives, and I do enjoy it, but it seems like an awful lot of work for just a few days. In saying that, it has been good to spend time with family and have some time off work afterwards. But now I will be glad to get back into a routine again, especially with my writing.
As 2026 has arrived, I'm feeling positive. For the last two years, I've started the year off awaiting hospital appointments or operations, and life has been dictated by the outcomes of my health. But I'm pleased to say that I currently seem to be on good form and I've got my fingers crossed that it will remain that way.
Last year saw the publication of my third book with Choc Lit (Joffe Books) and I am now out of contract, so it's up to me where I pursue my future writing. For a while now I've been working on a small town trilogy set in a fictitious hamlet on the outskirts of Chester. Food will pay a big part in these books, as well as a sense of community, romance of course, and maybe even a bit of spice!
I'm really looking forward to getting stuck into these books again after the Christmas break and hope that 2026 will see the publication of at least one of them, if not two.
I've also got a few other projects in the pipeline, which i will reveal more of, during the coming months.
I hope that 2026 gets off to a good start for you all and wish you a happy and healthy year ahead.
Take care
Linda
